Dear members and friends,
We are pleased to inform you that Farsophone's board has come to an agreement with Barnet Council regarding the location of our main office for the next few years. We are already based at new temporary premises in Hendon (address below). However, unfortunately, we cannot be open to the public until some internal repairs and health and safety checks are completed.
As some of you know, Golders Green library closed on 13 February for more than four months of extensive restructuring of the building and the library service. Unfortunately we were informed of the decision, and especially of the nature of the planned changes, very late. So on 13 February and for some time after we were still negotiating with Barnet Council and had no certain information to communicate with you. This was the main reason why we did not inform you much earlier. In any case, we hope you’ll accept our apologies for this long delay. Unfortunately the size and especially the cost of the space available for letting at Golders Green library from July 2017 will not be appropriate for our association. On the other hand we are very pleased that we could secure very suitable alternative premises for the next few years. The address below is temporary until our new office is ready probably in the autumn or winter of this year.
We shall contact you soon with a firm date (probably early April) for re-opening our temporary main offices and the days and times in the week when we can receive the public. As you know, of course, Farsophone's Counselling Service at Edgware Hospital, our two weekly Tuesday Seniors' parties at “the Meritage Centre” in Hendon and the hosting of Sunday art classes also at “the Meritage” each have their own location and timetable.
Our main office move has not directly affected them.
Last but not least, we congratulate you on the approach of Norouz and wish you a healthy and happy new year.
